Job summary

Gunnison Valley Health is seeking an Environmental Services Technician, Housekeeping for the Senior Care Center to maintain a clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing care environment. The role focuses on disinfection of patient care areas and common spaces, following strict infection prevention protocols and proper use of cleaning chemicals.

The position is day shift with some weekends and evenings, roughly 24 hours per week, offering a supportive work culture, opportunity for continuing

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in healthcare support services and/or environmental services, hospitality or related field preferred.
• CHEST certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for disinfection of patient care areas and common areas on assignment.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of healthcare cleaning and disinfection principles using proper chemical use and equipment handling.
• Follow infection prevention practices including hand hygiene, standard and isolation precautions, and correct PPE donning/doffing.
• Day shift with some weekends and evenings; approximately 24 hours per week.

Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience: Healthcare support services and/or environmental services, hospitality or a related field preferred.
• Licenses/Certification: Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) preferred

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for disinfection of patient care areas, and common areas on assignment
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of the healthcare cleaning and disinfecting principles using proper chemical use and equipment handling.
• Follow all infection prevention practices (i.e. proper cleaning and disinfection protocols and process, hand hygiene, standard & isolation precautions, as well as proper donning and doffing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Day shift, must have flexibility for some weekends and evenings (approximately 24 hours per week)

Physical Requirements

Occasionally (1-33%) - Sitting, stairs

Frequently (34-66%) - Standing, change position, reaching, reach across midline, handling, fingering, crouching/squatting, stooping, lifting (0-20 lbs), carrying (0-20 lbs), pushing/pulling (20-50 lbs)

Continuously (37-100%) - must be able to see with corrective eyewear, must be able to hear clearly with assistance

Compensation: $18.00 - $22.00/hr, depending on experience.
