Job summary

Houston Methodist Environmental Services (EVS) Technician position performs general and moderately complex cleaning in assigned specialty areas to provide a safe and attractive environment for patients, guests, and staff. This role follows AORN standards for turnover and uses floor maintenance equipment and chemicals, including proper disposal of hazardous materials.

The position supports infection control, safety procedures, and effective communication within a hospital setting, with DOTHAZMAT

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of experience preferred.
• DOTHAZMAT Certification within 90 days of hire.
• Driver License (DL) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interact professionally with patients, guests and staff.
• Perform cleaning tasks in assigned areas per infection control standards.
• Follow procedures for room turnover and linen distribution.
• Handle and dispose of hazardous materials per policy.
• Communicate facility or patient issues to management.
