Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking an Environmental Services Tech I (EVS I) for the 2nd shift to maintain a clean, safe environment for patients, visitors and staff. Responsibilities include timely room turns, trash removal, waste handling, dusting, mopping, and operating cleaning equipment.

The role requires physical ability (lift up to 50 lbs, bend, kneel, stoop) and a preferred high school diploma. PPE must be worn as needed.

Qualifications

• Prefer completion of High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Safely lift and transport items weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Safely pull, push, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch and stretch.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely room turns related to patient throughput within infection prevention principles.
• Empties trash and relines cans with clean liners.
• Removes infectious waste and fills sharps containers as needed.
• Damp dusts furniture, ledges, and fixtures with a germicidal agent.
• Dry mops, wet mops floors and vacuums carpeting.
• High dust vents, over bed lights and other items over shoulder height.
• Operates various types of vacuum cleaners and cleaning tools.
• Wear PPE (gloves, eye protection, gowns, booties, masks, hair covers) as required.
• Other duties as assigned such as performing alternate EVS aid responsibilities.
