Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking an EVS Tech I to support infection prevention efforts and maintain a clean, safe hospital environment. You will perform routine cleaning tasks, ensuring timely room cleans and responsiveness to daily workflow adjustments to meet discharge flow needs.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, at least 6 months of experience in janitorial or environmental services, and CNACC or CHEST certification.

Expected pay for this position is $17.00 - $18.89/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The EVS Tech I, in accordance with standards of quality, is an essential contributor to promoting a healthy workplace through disinfection and infection prevention. The EVS Tech I is responsible for performing routine cleaning tasks, while ensuring an organized and disinfected environment for employees and visitors. This role is also responsible for ensuring timely room cleans, especially as it relates to hospital patient throughput and responds favorably to requests to adjust daily workflow or area assignment to meet hospital/discharge flow needs.

Experience:

• 6 months' experience in janitorial, housekeeping, or environmental services position

Licensure/ Certification:

• Certificate in Non-Acute Care Cleaning (CNACC) certification or Certified Health Care Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) certification
