Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking an EVS Tech I to promote a healthy workplace by performing routine cleaning, disinfection, and infection prevention. You will ensure timely room cleans to support patient throughput and adapt daily workflows to discharge needs, while maintaining safety standards.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED; 6 months in janitorial/housekeeping or environmental services and CNACC/CHEST certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• EDIUCATION: High School Diploma or GED; CNACC or CHEST certification listed as preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks and maintain an organized, disinfected environment.
• Ensure timely room cleans to support hospital patient throughput and discharge flow.
• Respond to requests to adjust daily workflow or area assignments as needed.
• Maintain safety and infection prevention standards in all duties.

Expected pay for this position is $17.00 - $18.89/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The EVS Tech I, in accordance with standards of quality, is an essential contributor to promoting a healthy workplace through disinfection and infection prevention. The EVS Tech I is responsible for performing routine cleaning tasks, while ensuring an organized and disinfected environment for employees and visitors. This role is also responsible for ensuring timely room cleans, especially as it relates to hospital patient throughput and responds favorably to requests to adjust daily workflow or area assignment to meet hospital/discharge flow needs.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED

Experience:

• 6 months’ experience in janitorial, housekeeping, or environmental services position

Licensure/ Certification:

• Certificate in Non-Acute Care Cleaning (CNACC) certification or Certified Health Care Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) certification
