Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking an EVS Tech I to promote a healthy workplace by disinfecting and maintaining a clean environment for employees and visitors in line with hospital throughput needs.

You will perform routine cleaning tasks, ensure timely room cleans, and adjust workflow to meet discharge flow requirements; 6 months in janitorial is preferred, with CNACC/CHEST certification encouraged.

Qualifications

• Required: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Preferred: High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience: 6 months’ experience in janitorial, housekeeping, or environmental services position.
• Licensure/Certification: CNACC or CHEST certification.

Expected pay for this position is $17.00 - $18.89/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The EVS Tech I, in accordance with standards of quality, is an essential contributor to promoting a healthy workplace through disinfection and infection prevention. The EVS Tech I is responsible for performing routine cleaning tasks, while ensuring an organized and disinfected environment for employees and visitors. This role is also responsible for ensuring timely room cleans, especially as it relates to hospital patient throughput and responds favorably to requests to adjust daily workflow or area assignment to meet hospital/discharge flow needs.

Education

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED

Experience

• 6 months’ experience in janitorial, housekeeping, or environmental services position

Licensure/ Certification

• Certificate in Non-Acute Care Cleaning (CNACC) certification or Certified Health Care Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) certification
