Job summary

OSF HealthCare seeks an EVS Worker responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients and staff. This role requires timely room cleans and some interaction with patients, contributing to overall hospital hygiene and infection prevention. A High School Diploma or GED is preferred, with a background in Environmental Services being advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Preferred: 1 year Environmental Services Experience.
  • Licensure/Certification: CHEST Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe, hygienic environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Timely cleaning of rooms to support hospital throughput and discharge needs.
  • Assist with patient interactions in accordance with safety and hygiene standards.

Pay for this position is $16.52/hour. This is an Hourly position.


Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for providing a safe, hygienic, and aesthetically pleasing environment for the benefit of patients, visitors, and staff. While executing the assigned tasks, the EVS Worker will have some contact with patients and their family/loved ones. Contact may include physical, psychological, educational, and safety related and should be appropriate to the specific demographics of patients served in assigned service areas. Responsible for ensuring timely room cleans, especially as it relates to hospital patient throughput and responds favorably to requests to adjust daily workflow or area assignment to meet hospital/discharge flow needs. The EVS worker, in accordance with standards of quality, is an essential contributor to hospital disinfection and infection prevention.
