Job summary

Washington Regional Medical System is seeking an EVS Tech I in Fayetteville, AR to perform daily cleaning and disinfection of patient and non-patient areas, supporting a safe healing environment.

Responsibilities include stocking supplies, cleaning patient rooms and restrooms, handling waste, following infection prevention practices, and using PPE while delivering courteous service to patients and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, preferred.
• Previous housekeeping experience in a hospital setting, preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, offices, restrooms, corridors, and other assigned areas according to schedules and standards.
• Stock and maintain the EVS supply cart/closet (e.g., liners, microfiber, paper products, disinfectants).
• Perform discharge/terminal cleaning and enhanced cleaning for isolation rooms.
• Collect, remove, and dispose of trash, linen, and waste, including regulated medical waste.
• Replenish disposable items such as soap, paper towels, toilet paper, gloves, and sanitizer dispensers.
• Clean and disinfect equipment and furniture per unit workflow and EVS procedures.
• Respond promptly to calls for service including spills, bodily fluid cleanups, and room/equipment turnarounds; use wet-floor signage and safety protocols.
• Dust and spot-clean high and low surfaces, vents, ledges, and other touchpoints; focus on high-touch areas to reduce infection risk.
• Use required PPE and follow Standard/Transmission-Based Precautions as applicable.
• Use tracking system and electronic devices to receive, document, and close tasks; communicate status updates as needed.
• Provide positive customer service and maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
