Job summary

Washington Regional Medical System in Fayetteville, AR, seeks an EVS Tech I to perform daily cleaning and disinfection of patient and non-patient areas, supporting a safe healing environment. Responsibilities include handling cleaning chemicals safely, stocking supplies, and performing routine and discharge cleanings per schedule.

Qualifications

• English reading, writing and speaking ability required.
• Experience in hospital housekeeping preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow departmental policies and manufacturer instructions for safe cleaning and disinfection chemicals and equipment.
• Stock and maintain EVS supply cart/closet at the start and end of each shift.
• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, offices, restrooms, corridors, and other areas per schedule.
• Perform discharge/terminal cleaning and enhanced cleaning for isolation rooms per infection prevention precautions.
• Collect, remove and dispose of trash, linen and waste following hospital policy and applicable regulations.
• Replenish disposable items such as soap, paper towels, toilet paper, gloves, and sanitizer dispensers.
• Clean and disinfect equipment and furniture per unit workflow and EVS procedures.
• Respond promptly to calls for service including spills and room/equipment turnarounds; use wet-floor signs and safety protocols.
• Dust and spot-clean high and low surfaces, vents, and touchpoints to reduce infection risk.
• Use PPE and follow Standard/Transmission-Based Precautions; document tasks in tracking system and communicate status.
• Provide positive customer service while maintaining patient privacy.
