Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale is seeking a facilities associate responsible for collecting and transporting general waste and linens, operating floor care equipment, and maintaining campus floor surfaces. You will assist with meeting room setup, stock supplies, and respond to customer service requests while collaborating with your team.

The role requires lifting up to 75 pounds, standing and moving for long periods, and performing duties in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to read, write, speak English, including comprehension of verbal and written instructions.
• Must be able to prioritize job duties and work independently and/or in a team environment.
• Prior experience in floor care maintenance is highly preferred.
• Must lift 50-75 pounds occasionally, and 25 pounds regularly; stand, push, pull, reach, bend, walk for long periods.
• Must be able to push/pull carts weighing 50 pounds regularly.

Responsibilities

• Collects and transports general waste and soiled linens following infection control guidelines.
• Operates power equipment such as carpet extractors and floor burnishers in completing tasks.
• Maintains floor surfaces including stripping, recoating, scrubbing, and burnishing.
• Assists with meeting room setup and transport of supplies as needed.
• Responds to customer service requests and communicates effectively with staff.

Responsibilities

Collects and transports general and infectious/bio-hazard waste and soiled linens in accordance with department and infection control guidelines. Collects and transports recyclable materials. Operates power equipment in the completion of assignments: including trash compactor, carpet extractor, vacuum cleaner, auto scrubbers, burnishers, and other floor care or cleaning equipment. Responsible for the maintenance of all floor surface of the campus facilities including and not limited to the following: Floor finish removal, finish recoat, corrective scrubbing and finish recoat, routine floor scrubbing and dust mopping, burnishing of floors, extraction of carpet and furniture, carpet cleaning and spot removal. May be called upon to perform conventional housekeeping-related duties in other areas as needed. Responsible for arrangement and set up of meeting rooms including the transport and stocking of supplies. Responds to customer Service requests. Must collaborate with others, organize well, accomplish tasks, solve problems and communicate effectively.
