Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking a full-time housekeeping/floor care worker at our Phoenix campus. Responsibilities include collecting waste and soiled linens, and transporting materials while following infection control guidelines.

Operates floor care equipment, maintains floors, and assists with meeting room setup. Must read/write English, prioritize tasks, and work independently or in a team, with prior floor care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be able to read, write, speak English.
• Able to prioritize job duties and work independently and/or in a team.
• Prior experience in floor care maintenance is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collects and transports general and infectious/bio-hazard waste and soiled linens per guidelines.
• Operates floor care and cleaning equipment such as vacuums, scrubbers, and burnishers.
• Maintains campus floor surfaces, including stripping, refinishing, scrubbing and mopping.
• Sets up meeting rooms and transports and stocks supplies; responds to customer service requests.
• Collaborates with others and communicates effectively.

Responsibilities

Collects and transports general and infectious/bio-hazard waste and soiled linens in accordance with department and infection control guidelines. Collects and transports recyclable materials. Operates power equipment in the completion of assignments: including trash compactor, carpet extractor, vacuum cleaner, auto scrubbers, burnishers, and other floor care or cleaning equipment. Responsible for the maintenance of all floor surface of the campus facilities including and not limited to the following: Floor finish removal, finish recoat, corrective scrubbing and finish recoat, routine floor scrubbing and dust mopping, burnishing of floors, extraction of carpet and furniture, carpet cleaning and spot removal. May be called upon to perform conventional housekeeping-related duties in other areas as needed. Responsible for arrangement and set up of meeting rooms including the transport and stocking of supplies. Responds to customer Service requests. Must collaborate with others, organize well, accomplish tasks, solve problems and communicate effectively.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED preferred. Ability to read, write, speak English, including comprehension of verbal and written instructions, correspondence and memos is highly preferred. Must be able to prioritize job duties and be able to work independently and/or in a team environment. Prior experience in floor care maintenance is highly preferred. Required to stand, push, pull, reach, lift, bend, walk for extended periods of time. Required to lift 50-75 pounds occasionally, and 25 pounds regularly. Must be able to push/pull carts weighing 50 pounds on a regular basis.
