Job summary

Terwilliger Plaza is seeking an EVS Technician to maintain cleanliness and sanitation across the facility in downtown Portland. • Mix water and detergents or acids to prepare cleaning solutions.
• Steam-clean or shampoo carpets.

• Set up, arrange, and remove decorations for events.
• Set-up audio visual equipment for events.

Under the direction of the EVS Manager, EVS Technician is responsible for performing janitorial duties for the facility and related areas. Quality customer service will be provided to the residents at all times. Knowledge or willingness to learn proper cleaning techniques is essential.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From $18.50 per hour

Schedule: Must be able to work weekend and evenings

Essential Job Functions:

• Clean building floors and stairways by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, and vacuuming them.
• Gather and empty trash.
• Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
• Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
• Clean windows, glass partitions.
• Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
• Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
• Steam-clean or shampoo carpets.
• Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Respond to all off the hook and unlock requests from the front desk.
• Move furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks as needed.
• Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
• Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facility areas for events such as banquets and meetings.
• Set-up audio visual equipment for events.

Education:
High School Diploma or GED

List tools, equipment, etc used for the position:
General cleaning equipment: vacuum cleaner, dusting equipment, cleaning chemicals and brushes, waxing/polishing machine.

Physical Activities of the Position:

• Normally works 8 hour shift per day, however, this may be subject to change for business or care purposes.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Pull, carry 10 lbs and push 40 lbs.
• Requires two-hand dexterity
• Ability to walk and/or stand for prolonged periods of time, climb multiple flights of stairs.
• Ability to lift objects while vacuuming underneath
• Continuously bending and stooping, standing, walking
