Job summary

Prime Healthcare's Harlingen Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Environmental Services Technician to maintain a clean and safe hospital environment during night shifts. This full-time role involves cleaning patient rooms, operating rooms, and common areas, while following infection control protocols.

The position requires the ability to travel between facilities if needed, a high school diploma, and good reading and communication skills. Benefits include health insurance and paid time off.

Qualifications

• One year of knowledge within acute care hospital environmental service techniques preferred.
• Must be able to read, understand and communicate effectively.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.

• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, operating rooms, and common areas to prevent the spread of infections.
• Properly disposing of medical and hazardous waste according to hospital protocols.
• Restock supplies like gloves, masks, and cleaning materials in various hospital areas.
• Clean and maintain floors, restrooms, and other surfaces using specialized equipment and chemicals.
• Respond to urgent cleaning needs such as spills or contamination incidents and communicate promptly using phone, handheld radios, pagers, and other devices.
• Maintain a high level of cleanliness within the hospital and adjacent buildings, which may require traveling between facilities independently.
