Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking an Environmental Service Technician Lead to assist the Supervisor in coordinating daily EVS operations, address staff and customer concerns, and ensure tasks are completed. You will conduct quality audits, manage schedules, and support the EVS team with ongoing training and cross-department collaboration.

The role requires strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to train staff in housekeeping, sanitation, and safety.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• 1 year of public service and/or customer service experience in a hotel, hospital, environmental services, or janitorial setting.
• Knowledge of housekeeping materials, supplies and equipment to ensure a safe work environment.
• Ability to conduct suitable training in housekeeping, sanitation and safety.
• Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Time management and organizational skills; self-directed.
• Ability to make quality, independent decisions.
• Analytical and strong problem solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently under tight deadlines, high volumes and multiple interruptions.
• Ability to maintain the strictest levels of confidentiality.
• Ability to listen to others.
• Competency in the use of a variety of computer hardware and software systems.
• Ability to resolve various employee and customer relation issues.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate shift activities, create daily staffing rosters, monitor EPIC tracker for room cleans, equipment requests, and patient transports.
• Assign and adjust work schedules as necessary.
• Coordinate and inspect employee work assignments and complete quality assurance inspections.
• Provide ongoing instruction to Environmental Services staff per department standards.
• Communicate and collaborate with team members across departments for continuity of service.
• Clean and maintain equipment used in duties and store it properly.
• Assist upline in resolving work-related issues and report as needed.
• Own daily operations and initiatives.
• May work across department sites for coverage and business needs.
• Participate in safety initiatives and complete required competencies on time.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
