The role acts as department lead in the absence of the EVS Manager and supports staffing and performance-improvement efforts. As the department lead, you will oversee daily operations, enforce safety and infection-control standards, train new staff, and manage inventory

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience in a healthcare or commercial cleaning environment.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to supervise and motivate staff.
• Knowledge of infection prevention and isolation procedures.
• Certification preferred or obtained within defined timeframe.
• Internal training/compliance required on hire.
• Supervisory/lead EVS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directs daily EVS operations and assigns staff by priorities and schedules.
• Monitors performance, inspects work quality, and reassigns as needed.
• Ensures safety, cleanliness, and infection control standards are met.
• Provides training and orientation on procedures and techniques.
• Ensures compliance with isolation and terminal cleaning protocols.
• Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment, enforces usage policies.
• Assists in staff evaluations and disciplinary actions with the EVS Manager.
• Responds to customer service concerns about cleanliness and support services.
• Leads department huddles and communicates updates to the team.
• Represents the department during hospital-wide drills and codes.
• Keeps logs/records of cleaning, inspections, and quality checks.
