Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, IA seeks a Day to Evening/Night Environmental Services Supervisor to lead the EVS department on 2nd shift. Responsibilities include scheduling, training, and maintaining cleanliness and safety to support patient experience.

You will interact with nurse managers, infection control, and EVS staff to ensure top-notch service while meeting performance standards. Prior supervisory experience in EVS/Housekeeping is preferred; strong leadership and communication

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years' EVS/Housekeeping experience required.
• Previous lead/charge/supervisory experience preferred.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write fluent English.
• Basic math skills and computer literacy are important.

Responsibilities

• Oversees day-to-day EVS operations for the assigned 2nd shift, including staffing and scheduling.
• Trains new employees and maintains accurate personnel records; assists with discipline as needed.
• Manages supply ordering (stock and non-stock) and cross-training to cover this process.
• Ensures safety and cleaning standards, including quality checks and inspections.
• Monitors press ganey and HCAHPS metrics; supports patient satisfaction goals.
• Assists Director/EVS Manager with department committees, meetings, and special assignments.
