Job summary

Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino in California is seeking an Environmental Services Supervisor (EVS) to lead the housekeeping team on shift, ensuring policy compliance, cleanliness, safety, and exceptional guest service.

You will supervise EVS staff, schedule, train, and coordinate tasks, uphold OSHA standards, and collaborate with other departments to maintain the public areas, restrooms, and offices.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 3+ years in environmental services with supervisor/lead experience.
  • Bi-lingual Spanish preferred.

Job Description
SUMMARY

Responsible for implementing and ensuring all environmental service operations on assigned shift are in accordance with the Company’s Policies and Procedures and high standard levels.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Interacts effectively with the public and Team Members.
  • Perform excellent customer service at all time.
  • Ensures all Company Policies and Procedures are adhered to in the Housekeeping department on assigned shift.
  • Ensures that all cleaning materials, chemicals, and equipment are used in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Maintains strict adherence that all OSHA Safety rules and regulations are followed.
  • Responsible for the supervision and coordination of EVS staff activities throughout the Casino ensuring approved standards of cleanliness are displayed.
  • Make recommendations and suggestions to hire, promote, evaluate, reward, discipline and discharge of all housekeeping Team Members.
  • Assists in the selecting, training, scheduling and evaluating of staff.
  • Responsible for advising management of repairs and replacements necessary in assigned areas and is accountable for cleanliness and overall condition of the public areas, restrooms and offices.
  • Interacts with customers and other casino departments in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ushers as needed by management for events. Any reasonable request made by management.
  • Performs other related duties as may be required.
  • Maintaining a consistent and regular attendance record.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises all Lead EVS Attendants and EVS Attendants. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training Team Members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining Team Members; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Must have worked in environmental services or related field with a minimum of three years experience as a supervisor or lead or Equivalent combination of education and progressive and relevant direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational/experience requirements.
  • Bi-lingual Spanish preferred.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure and technical manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or Team Members of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
  • Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an Team Member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock and radiation. The Team Member occasionally works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases to loud. When on the casino floor, the Team Member will be exposed to a smoke-filled environment.
