Atlantic Health Overlook Medical Center in Summit, NJ is hiring a Full-Time Environmental Aide I (Housekeeping) for the Environmental Services Department. Shifts are 3:30PM–11:30PM, including every other weekend, with a starting rate of $18.50 per hour.

The role performs cleaning of nursing units and patient rooms, restocks carts, handles biohazard materials, and responds to spills. HS diploma or GED is required, English reading/writing is required, and you must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Qualifikationen

• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Must be able to bend/push/pull/lift 50LBS.

Aufgaben

• Utilizes appropriate cleaning equipment in cleaning all nursing units, patients' rooms and all other designated facility areas, including the floors, woodwork, sills, vents, sinks, furniture etc.
• Follows the department's policies and procedures on cleaning, disinfecting and deodorization.
• Cleans up major spills when necessary and responds to pages in a timely manner.
• Cleans and restocks housekeeping carts at the end of each shift.
• Removes all trash and linen within the hospital.
• Follows directions carefully for cleaning solution preparations and handling of bio-hazard materials.
• Makes periodic checks for environmental needs in the assigned area.
• Reports any repairs to maintenance.
• Keeps abreast of changes in environmental services by attending monthly department meetings.
• Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
• Position includes cleaning of bodily fluids.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Relevant Experience:

• Prior institutional housekeeping experience preferred.
• 1-2 years of customer service experience in healthcare, hospitality or relevant area preferred.
• 1 year terminal cleaning and discharges (patient room cleaning) experience preferred.
