Job summary

Atlantic Health Overlook Medical Center is seeking a part-time Environmental Aide I (Housekeeping) for the Environmental Services Department. The role requires cleaning of nursing units, patient rooms and designated areas using appropriate equipment, while following established policies on cleaning, disinfecting and deodorization.

The candidate should have a HS diploma or GED and be able to read, write and speak English, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Utilizes appropriate cleaning equipment in cleaning all nursing units, patients' rooms and all other designated facility areas.
• Follows department cleaning policies and procedures on cleaning, disinfecting and deodorization.
• Cleans up major spills and responds to pages promptly.
• Cleans and restocks housekeeping carts at end of shift.
• Removes all trash and linen within the hospital.
• Follows directions for cleaning solution preparations and handling of bio-hazard materials.
• Monitors environmental needs in assigned area and reports repairs to maintenance.
• Attends monthly department meetings to stay updated on environmental services.
• Handles moderately complex issues and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
• Position includes cleaning of bodily fluids.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Atlantic Health Overlook Medical Center is seeking a Part-Time Environmental Aide I (Housekeeping) for the Environmental Services Department. Required hours are 11:00AM - 7:00PM, including every other weekend. Starting rate $18.50/hr.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

• Utilizes appropriate cleaning equipment in cleaning all nursing units, patients' rooms and all other designated facility areas, including the floors, woodwork, sills, vents, sinks, furniture etc.
• Follows the department's policies and procedures on cleaning, disinfecting and deodorization.
• Cleans up major spills when necessary and responds to pages in a timely manner.
• Cleans and restocks housekeeping carts at the end of each shift.
• Removes all trash and linen within the hospital.
• Follows directions carefully for cleaning solution preparations and handling of bio-hazard materials.
• Makes periodic checks for environmental needs in the assigned area.
• Reports any repairs to maintenance.
• Keeps abreast of changes in environmental services by attending monthly department meetings.
• Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
• Position includes cleaning of bodily fluids.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• HS Diploma or GED/Equivalent required or will obtain within 1 year of employment.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Must be able to bend/push/pull/lift 50LBS.

Relevant Experience:

• Prior institutional housekeeping experience preferred.
• 1-2 years of customer service experience in healthcare, hospitality or relevant area preferred.
• 1 year terminal cleaning and discharges (patient room cleaning) experience preferred.
