Job summary

Sellen Construction Co Inc seeks an EVP of Preconstruction to lead preconstruction end-to-end from concept through GMP, shaping pricing philosophy and delivery strategies.

You'll partner with the CEO and CSO to expand market presence across the Pacific Northwest and beyond, guiding cross-functional teams and leveraging emerging methods to differentiate Sellen in a competitive landscape.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive experience in commercial construction, with significant tenure in preconstruction and/or business development leadership.
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of work experience and education.
• Experience in business ownership, business acquisition, market growth, and the development of new service offerings.
• Demonstrated track record of revenue growth and business development success in the PNW commercial construction market.
• Experience leading large, cross-functional preconstruction teams (estimating, BIM/VDC, scheduling, procurement).

Responsibilities

Sellen is growing - intentionally, strategically, and into markets that reward the kind of trusted early-stage partnership we've built our reputation on. We're looking for an EVP of Preconstruction who will help us earn more of those opportunities, and make every one count.

This is a C-suite seat with a builder's mandate. You'll own preconstruction end-to-end, from the first conceptual estimate through GMP, while actively expanding Sellen's market presence with developers, property owners, and commercial clients across the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

You'll partner closely with our Chief Strategy Officer and CEO to shape how Sellen competes: sharpening our pricing philosophy, advancing alternative delivery (Design-Build, Progressive Design Build, GCCM), and positioning preconstruction as the competitive differentiator it should be.

Your Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive experience in commercial construction, with significant tenure in preconstruction and/or business development leadership.
• A Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of work experience and education.
• Experience in business ownership, business acquisition, market growth, and the development of new service offerings.
• Demonstrated track record of revenue growth and business development success in the PNW commercial construction market.
• Experience leading large, cross-functional preconstruction teams (estimating, BIM/VDC, scheduling, procurement).

Preferred

• Established network among PNW commercial real estate developers, architects, and owners.
• Experience scaling a construction business unit through a high-growth phase.
• Expertise in alterative project delivery: Design-Build, Progressive Design-Build, and/or GCCM.

Knowledge

• Knowledge of emerging methods and technology in commercial construction, especially in AI use cases.
• Expertise in contract and documentation practices used in commercial construction.
• Working knowledge of financial reports and financial analysis used in Service Group and/or Special Projects.

The full annual salary range for this position is $206,000 to $325,000, depending on direct professional experience and qualifications. The bonus target for this role is 20% of annual base earnings with a $1,000 a month auto allowance.
