University of Oregon is seeking a Pro Tem Research Assistant in the Institute of Ecology and Evolution. The role blends hands-on plant work in the UO greenhouse with molecular genetics lab tasks and routine lab maintenance to support the Streisfeld lab's goals.

The position involves designing experiments, interpreting data, training others, and maintaining equipment, under the supervision of the PI. A background in biological sciences with lab experience is required.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in biological sciences or related field.
• One year of experience working in a biology research laboratory.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsabilidades

• Support the Streisfeld lab through hands-on plant work in the UO greenhouse.
• Conduct molecular genetic work in the laboratory and assist with lab maintenance.
• Design and conduct experiments, interpret data, and train other researchers in the lab.
• Set up DNA isolation, genome sequencing, gene expression, and genetic crossing experiments.
• Troubleshoot experiments, present data, and manage equipment and reagents.
