Job summary

Kratos Defense and Security Solutions is seeking a hybrid Systems Engineering and CAM to support the C?SAR program in Colorado Springs, CO. The role blends technical systems engineering with programmatic cost, schedule, and scope management.

The candidate will handle requirements analysis, risk management, and documentation updates, while serving as CAM to track progress, cost performance, and earned value. Strong communication and cross‑disciplinary collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of financial or CAM related experience, including routine cost‑tracking activities.
• BS in SE, CS, EE, ME, or other engineering equivalent.
• Proven experience managing control accounts, including oversight of scope, schedule, and cost performance in accordance with Earned Value Management (EVM) principles.
• Ability to develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, forecasts, and financial performance metrics to support program decision‑making.
• Experience conducting variance analysis, preparing corrective action plans, and communicating performance status to leadership and stakeholders.
• Strong proficiency in developing IMS tasks, tracking resources, and managing associated budget allocations.
• Ability to translate technical tasks and program requirements into accurate, resource‑loaded schedule activities.
• Experience conducting schedule health assessments, preparing status updates, and supporting baseline management.
• Knowledge of Agile methodology.
• Demonstrated aptitude for learning systems engineering concepts, with the ability to develop proficiency through training, guidance, and hands‑on instruction.
• Candidate must be self-motivated and comfortable with supporting multiple groups of developers, engineers, and testers.
• Candidate must be able to articulate technical concepts orally and in written forms both internally to the team as well as externally to the customer and users.
• Excellent written and oral communications skills.
• Relevant CAM and Earned Value Management System (EVMS) training or certification
• Current and active Secret clearance, must be eligible for TS/SCI

Responsibilities

• Manage scope, schedule, and cost performance for assigned control accounts in alignment with Earned Value Management (EVM) principles.
• Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, forecasts, and financial performance metrics to support Task Order execution.
• Coordinate with engineering and program personnel to capture progress, update schedules, and maintain baseline integrity.
• Prepare variance analyses, corrective action plans, and status reports for leadership and customer reviews.
• Support cost collection activities, including purchase requests, bill‑of‑materials inputs, and labor tracking.
• Supporting the C-SAR System Engineering team to ensure all engineering contractual requirements and deliverables are met.
• Collaborate with developers, test teams, and user support personnel to coordinate system updates and monitor technical progress.
• Learn and apply systems engineering processes, tools, and best practices through training, mentorship, and hands‑on experience
• Attend and support highly technical engineering team meetings
• Travel as necessary to attend conferences and customer meetings
