Job summary

United Therapeutics, through Lung Bioengineering, seeks an Ex-Vivo Clinical Specialist II to perform EVLP procedures, evaluate donor lungs, and coordinate with transplant centers and OPOs to optimize donor organ viability. This onsite role requires surgical proficiency, sterile technique, and strong regulatory knowledge in a fast-paced environment.

You will work closely with medical consultants and transplant teams, manage logistics, document findings, and uphold FDA/UNOS/OPTN/CLIA/CMS protocols

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years as Procurement Transplant Coordinator with critical care experience.
• 2+ years as Procurement Transplant Coordinator with a Bachelor's degree.
• 2+ years in sterile technique, direct surgical procedures, or critical care including ventilator management and blood gas interpretation.
• Willingness to train onsite in Jacksonville, FL; Silver Spring, MD.
• Demonstrated knowledge of lung physiology and mechanics.
• Strong data collection and analysis skills.
• Proficient with Apple/PC and Microsoft Office; basic surgical skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate clinical team arrival and surgical suite setup for EVLP.
• Set up EVLP systems and aseptic zone per protocol.
• Evaluate lung condition; lead cannulation/reconstruction of vessels and trachea.
• Operate and monitor the EVLP system and related equipment.
• Coordinate organ logistics with OPO and transplant centers; ensure regulatory compliance.
