Job summary

FEDC is seeking a detail-oriented Evidence Technician to manage the city’s evidence room, handle digital records, and support officers in ensuring chain-of-custody integrity.

You will process, store, and dispose of evidence, coordinate with detectives, and provide customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

Candidates should have two years of office experience, a valid Colorado driver’s license, and the ability to testify in court.

Qualifications

• Two years of office work experience with customer service.
• Must possess a valid Colorado driver's license.
• Must obtain Property and Evidence certifications within one year of employment.
• Criminal Justice experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains an inventory of drug testing kits and blood testing supplies, evidence packaging supplies.
• Prepares packages for certified and insured mailings associated with evidence functions.
• Represents the organization to department employees, customers, other City departments, other criminal-justice agencies, and the general public.
• Retrieves evidence from patrol evidence lockers, logs evidence into the evidence software, and stores in evidence vault daily.
• Performs data entry and maintains digital evidence and records inventory.
• Under guidance, checks in and out evidence to Colorado Bureau of Investigation for testing.
• Under guidance, checks in and out evidence to detectives and patrol officers for court appearances.
