Schedule: Monday to Friday, 1200 to 2000
Under supervision, with some independence, this position involves voucher property for safekeeping from impounded vehicles, processing invoices in the Property and Evidence Tracking Systems (PETS), and creating property transfer reports (PTR) prior to transporting property to the Property Clerk's office or Springfield Gardens Auto Pound for final disposition.
Driver's license valid in New York required; must be maintained throughout employment. Additional requirements include eligibility for Special Patrolman status and, for advancement, at least one year of experience in Level I or supervisory capacity.
This opportunity is open to current NYPD Evidence and Property Control Specialists or those who have passed the civil service exam. Selection criteria include review of employment records, disciplinary history, performance evaluations, and a Commanding Officer's recommendation. NYPD employees cannot be assigned to their home precinct.
