Job summary

Friedman Vartolo LLP, a fast-growing New York-based law firm, is seeking an experienced Paralegal to manage high-volume eviction files from intake to lockout across multiple jurisdictions. The role supports attorneys with efficient, accurate, and compliant legal work in uncontested and contested matters.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in evictions, knowledge of real estate default services, and excels in deadlines, workloads, and high-pressure environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5-year experience in evictions; post-foreclosure eviction experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Real Estate Default Services.
• Detail oriented with high accuracy.
• Superior organizational, research, and writing skills.
• Independent worker capable of meeting deadlines under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage uncontested and contested eviction files across multiple jurisdictions from intake to lockout.
• Draft and review notices, petitions, judgments, warrants, motions and related pleadings per state/local rules.
• Coordinate filing and service of pleadings, ensuring compliance with court rules and timelines.
• Prepare appearance packets, exhibits, and documentation for court appearances.
• Track milestones, deadlines, and status updates on a high-volume caseload.
• Coordinate lockouts with sheriffs or other authorities as applicable.
• Review court orders and update internal systems and stakeholders accordingly.
• Communicate case status and next steps with attorneys, clients, vendors, and court personnel.
• Maintain accurate and organized electronic case files and documentation.
