Job summary

The Stronghold Companies is looking for a full-time Project Manager responsible for overseeing the day-to-day performance of projects. You will supervise multiple projects, ensuring safety and quality standards while managing costs and resources.

This physically demanding role requires travel throughout the U.S., with extensive overtime common. You must have at least 7 years of managerial experience and a clean driving record. Preferred experience includes 10 years of related supervisory experience.

Qualifications

  • Class “A” driver’s license and a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).

Job description

Overview

Project Manager responsible for the day‑to‑day performance of projects and guidance of multiple job and craft projects toward goals of Safety, Quality, Productivity and Service. Supervise field execution to maximize quality while maintaining client expectations and ensuring a safe working environment. Conduct all business in accordance with company policies and maintain professionalism both internally and externally.

  • Enforce company policies with superintendents.
  • Communicate with Director of Operations to ensure project timeliness and attend meetings with operations and client as requested.
  • Assist in selecting and developing field personnel.
  • Support planning and estimating staff by assisting in the development of customer proposals.
  • Oversee enforcement of all safety, company and client policies and procedures.
  • Focus on completing projects in a quality manner showing the company’s commitment to high standards.
  • Manage project costs.
  • Manage multiple projects, tasks and resources.
  • Evaluate the use of full‑time and project‑based personnel.
  • Demonstrate excellent relational skills with customers, sub‑contractors and subordinates.
  • Use new methods and technologies to shorten schedules and increase profits without sacrificing quality.
  • Hold daily “tail‑gate” safety meetings at the start of each shift.
  • Follow all company safety, quality control/quality assurance procedures and OSHA guidelines.
  • Understand and articulate mechanical concepts such as drawings.
  • Read, write and understand communications, directions, instructions and warning signs.
  • Maintain poise and focus under time constraints.
  • Attend and complete required trainings as required by the company and client.
  • Pass required drug/alcohol testing and background checks.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Work Environment

Job operates in a petrochemical/refinery environment. Exposure to cold in winter and hot in summer. Noise level requires hearing protection or verbal amplification. Emergency situations may involve hazardous chemicals requiring respirator use. All employees must be fit‑tested for respirators and pass a pulmonary function test (PFT).

Physical Demands

The role is physically demanding. Employees regularly bend, stoop, walk, climb, squat, reach, kneel, push/pull, stand, sit and lift more than 50 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Full‑time position with variable days and hours depending upon projects. Overtime work is common and may be required as duties demand.

Travel

Extensive travel throughout the U.S. and overnight stays for extended periods.

Required Education And Experience

High school diploma or equivalent, 7 years of managerial experience, at least 5 years of supervisory experience in a related industry, Class “A” driver’s license and a clean MVR.

Preferred Education And Experience

10 years of managerial experience with at least 5 years of supervisory experience in a related industry. First Aid and CPR trained.
