Overview

Summary/ Objective

We're looking to add an experienced mechanic / shop foreman to our office in Gonzales, LA. The Shop Foreman will ensure that qualified repairs are performed correctly, efficiently and timely. The position of Mechanic is responsible to support ongoing maintenance and repairs of on‑road equipment and pumps for operations; ensuring the operational efficiency and safety of the equipment used in operations. This is considered a safety‑sensitive position. A Mechanic will perform work as required to maximize the quality of the Company while maintaining the specified expectations of the client and ensuring a safe working environment while performing work and will conduct all Company business in accordance with Company policies and procedures. This position will maintain professionalism throughout all business dealings, both internally and externally.

Responsibilities
  1. Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts.
  2. Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; controlling corrosion; completing winterization procedures.
  3. Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub‑assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics; completes machine shop operations; making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units.
  4. Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.
  5. Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
  6. Maintains vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting.
  7. Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
  8. Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
  9. Contains costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options.
  10. Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
  11. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical and regulation publications.
  12. Enhances maintenance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  13. Ensure all work is performed in accordance with applicable environmental, health, safety and building codes as required by federal, state, local and refinery regulations.
  14. Maintain poise and focus under time constraint and adverse conditions.
  15. Attend and complete trainings as required by the Company and client.
  16. Pass all required drug/alcohol testing and background requirements.
  17. Perform other related duties as assigned.

This position will have no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a shop environment or remote locations. Might be exposure to cold working conditions during winter months and hot working conditions during the summer months; exposure to noise, workers must wear protecting hearing equipment or frequently shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The position of a Mechanic can be extremely physical at times. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required, and for long periods of time, to bend, stoop, walk, climb, squat, reach, kneel, push/pull, stand, sit, hand strength and dexterity. Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a full‑time position. Typical days and hours of work are variable/ project dependent. Over‑time work is common and may be required as job duties demand.

Qualifications
