Job summary

The Neville Center at Fresh Pond in Cambridge, MA is seeking a Weekend Nursing Supervisor to oversee weekend staffing and operations. This role leads a team, coordinates care, and ensures timely clinical decisions and resident safety during emergencies.

You will monitor rounds, adjust care plans, and collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and staff while communicating with residents' families and protecting resident rights.

Qualifications

• Experience in long-term care as supervisor/manager preferred.
• At least one year leading and supervising peer staff.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with residents, families, and staff.
• RN or LPN Nursing Licensure required.

Responsibilities

• Schedule 2, 12-hour shifts per day on weekends with every-other weekend option.
• Monitor staffing schedule and allocate personnel to meet resident needs.
• Act as clinical resource, guiding staff using nursing process and guidelines.
• Serve as the person in charge and direct staff during emergencies.
• Conduct rounds to monitor assignments, resident concerns, and adjust as needed.
• Evaluate residents and adjust care plans to address goals.
• Stabilize residents in acute distress and coordinate with medical support.
• Communicate with physicians, NPs, providers, vendors, and staff.
• Communicate effectively with family and visitors.
• Honor the rights and dignity of residents, staff, visitors and property.
• Know and implement fire and disaster plans and PPE usage.
