Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in policy, political science, biology or related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of policy-oriented nonprofit or government experience related to water management or environmental regulation.
  • Knowledge of Florida water statutes, rules, and regulations.
  • Excellent policy analysis and research skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; comfortable engaging with diverse stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Experience with agencies such as SFWMD, USACE, FWC, and Florida DEP preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Advance Audubon’s Everglades policy goals through research, analysis, and guidance.
  • Advise on potential State and Federal legislative priorities, opportunities, and risks.
  • Analyze Florida Statutes, rules, and regulations; propose improvements for Everglades policy.
  • Prepare high‑quality analyses for restoration projects and related programs.
  • Draft fact sheets, letters, testimony, and other advocacy materials.
  • Lead in developing and implementing Everglades advocacy strategies.
