Sierra-at-Tahoe invites an Events + Sponsorships Manager to bring the Sierra brand to life through strategic event planning, partnerships, and on-mountain promotions.
Based in South Lake Tahoe, you’ll oversee seasonal events, manage sponsor deliveries, and coordinate with Sales & Marketing to drive guest visits while maintaining safety and brand standards.
Job Details:
Embrace the thrill of winter and step outside of the norm and into an outdoor opportunity you’ll cherish forever. Here at Sierra, we pride ourselves on our welcoming and inclusive work atmosphere that keeps the stoke high for our guests and employees alike all season long. If you’re looking for a full career switch centrally stationed in the beautiful Sierra Nevada, you just found it.
NOTE: This job description shall not be construed as a contract for employment. Must be at least 18 years of age. Sierra-at-Tahoe is an at-will employer. This position requires a post offer background check.
You’ll bring the Sierra brand to life, from planning a two-hour base-area activation to multi-day events that need snowcats, permits, and a backup plan. Every event should drive visits, build loyalty, and serve a clear strategic goal. You’ll also own our partnerships. That means keeping current partners stoked, delivering everything we owe them (and then some), and bringing in new partners who fit Sierra's culture and get real value from being here. Closer to home, you’ll be our face in South Lake Tahoe, running local promotions and finding new ones. You’ll do all of this in a snow environment, where the plan is a draft until the forecast agrees. Expect to reschedule snowcat transport mid-storm or move an event to the other side of the mountain the night before.
You’ll manage the Events Assistant directly. Through a hub-and-spoke model, you'll also have a dotted-line relationship with all event staff. On event days, you may oversee volunteers, staff from other departments, and vendor teams.
3-5 years of experience in marketing and event management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
