Job summary

Baltimore Country Club in Baltimore, MD is seeking an Events Manager to design and execute a broad range of events, including weddings, corporate gatherings, social events, and golf outings. You will manage BEOs and diagrams, handle inquiries by phone and email, and collaborate with culinary, F&B, housekeeping and communications to deliver memorable experiences.

The ideal candidate has hotel or club experience, excellent organization, and a proactive, client‑centered approach.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or Event Management required or strongly preferred.
  • Catering sales and wedding experience is required.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of related experience in private clubs or high-end resorts is preferred.
  • Experience working in hotels or country clubs is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Attract and secure events including corporate, social, weddings, golf outings and Club events.
  • Communicate with Members, Guests, Staff and vendors by phone and email.
  • Create contracts and manage deposit and payment schedules with hosts.
  • Prepare and update Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and diagrams (Social Tables).
  • Serve as main contact for hosts from inquiry to event date.
  • Attend weekly events team and BEO meetings with cross-functional teams.
  • Review invoices before sending to hosts.
  • Stay current on event trends and network around the Baltimore area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Baltimore Country Club is seeking an Events Manager who is passionate about selling and executing a variety of events. The Events Manager will conceptualize, create, and execute events, which include social events, weddings, golf tournaments, corporate and holiday functions. Responsibilities include maintaining Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and diagrams, receiving and answering phone calls, and working with internal departments including culinary, F&B, housekeeping, and communications. The Events Manager will be responsible for bringing new and creative event ideas to the Club to excite and engage membership. This is a fun and exciting role that relies heavily on details, organization, and lots of creativity!

The ideal candidate will have previous hotel or Country Club experience and is a highly motivated team player who can develop long-term beneficial relationships for the Club.

The Events Manager Is Responsible For:
  • Attracting, securing, planning and executing events including corporate, social, weddings, golf outings, and Club events
  • Timely communication between Members, Guests, Staff and vendors via telephone and email
  • Contract creation, handling of deposit and payment schedules with members/event hosts
  • Create and update Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and diagrams (Social Tables)
  • Being the main point of contact to the event host from date of inquiry throughout the event date
  • Attend weekly event team meetings and weekly BEO meetings with cross-functional teams
  • Review all bills before being sent to host
  • Keeping up to date on event trends
  • Networking around the Baltimore area
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Strong organizational skills and high-level of attention to detail
  • Must be able to work in a high pace environment balancing many different tasks
  • High energy and outgoing personality with professional presence and appearance
  • Being able to problem solve on your feet while maintaining composure with customers
  • Diplomatic team player able to foster relationships with Members, guests, staff, and vendors
  • Professional and responsive communication to all Members, clients, and staff
  • Networking inside and outside the Club to obtain 'leads' and build relationships with new and existing clients
  • Assisting event hosts in developing a menu, floor plan, timeline; etc.
  • Effectively partnering with all departments in the planning and execution of events
  • Attending functions to meet hosts and ensure everything is as expected and adjust as needed
  • Maintaining and updating accurate files
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to learn, comprehend, and effectively use software systems (ex. NorthStar, Social Tables)
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including holidays, nights, and weekends
  • Must be able to work long hours on your feet and in varying weather conditions
  • Must have a Can-Do Attitude!
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree and/or certification in Hospitality Management, Event Management or related field is strongly preferred
  • Catering sales and wedding experience is required
  • Minimum 3-5 years related experience required
  • Experience working in private clubs or high-end resorts is a plus
More Information About The Events Department

This position reports to the Director of Events who oversees a team of four in the Events department. The Events Department office is located at the Roland Park campus. A competitive base salary is provided with bonus for achieving budgeted goals and uncapped bonus potential for the over achievement of the annual plan.
