Job summary

Yellowstone County seeks a versatile Maintenance Technician to set up and tear down equipment for events at MetraPark, assist with maintenance, repairs, and operating needs of the facility.

Responsibilities include operating forklifts and trucks, cleaning, set-ups, and diverse trades like welding, carpentry, painting, and landscaping to support events and daily operations, year-round in Montana.

Qualifications

• Two years' experience in construction trade work, building maintenance, and/or arena/large venue event setup and tear down.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience totaling two years.
• Valid driver's license issued by the State of Montana.

Responsibilities

• Set up and tear down of equipment for events and assist in maintenance, repair, and operating needs of the MetraPark facility.
• Operate and maintain heavy, medium and light equipment (forklifts, trucks, front-end loaders, bucket truck).
• Assist in cleaning of the entire complex inside and outside (buildings, facilities, restrooms).
• Assist in all set-ups and teardowns as required by events.
• Assist in cleaning and other work in outside areas in all weather conditions.
• Assist in building and equipment repair and related work.
• Perform building and mechanical maintenance, welding, carpentry, painting, masonry and landscaping tasks.
• Construct and dismantle stages, barricades, rodeo arenas, and sports facilities and equipment.

Education

High School or GED + 2 years experience

Equivalent combination of education and experience totaling two years

Job description

Education/Experience/Training:

• Graduation from a High School or G. E. D. and two (2) years' experience in construction trade work, building maintenance, and/or arena/large venue event setup and tear down; or
• Any equivalent combination of education and experience totaling two (2) years.

Required:

• Must pass a criminal and driving background check and meet any County-specific employment eligibility standards.

Special Requirements or Certifications:

• Valid driver's license issued by the State of Montana.
