Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX, seeks an Assistant Director of Events to lead the planning and execution of events for the Simmons School of Education and Human Development. This on-campus role collaborates with Dean's Office, internal clients, caterers, vendors, and stakeholders to deliver high-profile ceremonies and donor events.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree and at least four years’ experience in event logistics or project management, with strong Excel and CRM

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 4+ years of professional work experience, including 3+ years in event logistics or project management.
• Experience in higher education and managing events involving high-profile guests preferred.
• Experience working with volunteers is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Lead planning and execution of events for Simmons School.
• Collaborate with internal clients, vendors, and campus partners.
• Manage event budgets, timelines, and staffing.
• Provide executive and operational support to Chief of Staff.
• Support donor communications and development activities.
• Travel as needed.
