Position Summary

Ensemble Arts is looking to hire a Events Kitchen Assistant. The Events Kitchen Assistant is responsible for preparing and finishing all hot and cold foods in accordance with event recipes & standards.

This role pays an hourly rate of $20.00-$24.00.

This position will remain open until August 1, 2025.

Responsibilities
  1. Ability to work in a clean, organized, and efficient manner in a high-pressure environment
  2. Have experience on multiple stations in the kitchen
  3. Ensuring that food portions and food presentation meet Events standards
  4. Must have excellent knife skills and proficiency in all aspects of cooking
  5. Assist the Culinary Management team with food preparation as assigned
  6. Maintain a working knowledge of food preparation for standard menu items
  7. Maintain a clean work environment, including floors and passages
  8. Clean kitchen and equipment as assigned by the Culinary Management team
  9. Assist in keeping all food storage areas, refrigerators, freezers, etc., clean and organized
  10. Assist in unloading deliveries
Qualifications
  1. Professional work ethic
  2. 2+ years of related off-premise catering/cook experience
  3. Prepare and execute key components of dishes while ensuring quality and accuracy
  4. Effective communication skills and ability to take direction from supervisors
  5. Flexible working hours, including weekends and evenings, when required
  6. Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
  7. Ability to work independently, resourcefully, and proactively solve issues
  8. Support fellow cooks by being a team player
  9. Ability to meet physical demands including extended periods of standing and walking throughout the day; able to lift and carry 30+ pounds, push/pull up to 75+ pounds
  10. Culinary degree is preferred but not required
