Job summary

Child & Family Center seeks a Temporary Events Coordinator to support the Marketing and Outreach Department with events, fundraising, communications, and donor relations. You will plan, coordinate, and execute community and fundraising events, manage timelines, and collaborate with vendors and volunteers.

The role requires social media familiarity, Canva, and CRM experience, with occasional evenings/weekends. This is a hybrid, temporary full-time position through December 22, 2026 in California.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in marketing, event coordination, communications, nonprofit studies, or related field preferred.
  • One year of event planning experience required.
  • Proficiency in using and posting on social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and YouTube) and familiarity with social media scheduling and reporting software.
  • Strong organization, communication, and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with CANVA, Constant Contact and Bloomerang or similar.
  • Ability to take initiative, be creative, work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings/weekends to support Agency events.
  • Strong Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Windows required (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Must possess a valid California driver's license and maintain an insurable driving record under the Clinics' liability policy.
  • Must pass all applicable health, fingerprint/LiveScan and DMV clearances.

Responsibilities

  • Support in the development of monthly newsletters and community facing reports.
  • Enter donor activity using CRM software. Knowledge with Bloomerang preferred.
  • Draft and send approved correspondence.
  • Post approved content on social media platforms.
  • Support in the coordination and development of marketing materials (flyers, newsletters, emails).
  • Create slide deck presentations using CANVA.
  • Support with project requests from other departments.
  • Support in management of event logistics, vendor and volunteer coordination, timelines, communications, and on-site event operations.
  • Support vendors and vendor-related requests related to events.
  • Provide day-of event support, including setup, breakdown, and volunteer coordination for fundraisers and other community/special events.
  • Support in the development of post-event follow-up communications and reporting.
  • Enter and track data related to marketing, events and donor relations in CRM.
  • All other tasks as assigned.

Salary Range (final salary offer is based on a number of factors, such as certifications, experience, and more):

$25 - $29.56/hour

This is a temporary position expected to last through December 22, 2026.

JOB PURPOSE:

The Temporary Events Coordinator will support the Marketing and Outreach Department with all Child & Family Center marketing, fundraising, communications, public relations, and event related efforts. The Temporary Events Coordinator is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of organizational events, including fundraising events, community events, donor engagement activities, and special programs/events.

WORK SCHEDULE:

FLSA Status:Non-Exempt – Full Time Temporary

Work-Week:Sunday – Saturday

  • Hybrid-minimum two days onsite.
  • Actual work schedule as agreed with Direct Supervisor and based on business/program needs.
  • Work Schedule subject to change based on Center’s needs.
  • Temporary position. Expected Duration: through December 22, 2026.
