In this dynamic position, you will have the opportunity to set a strategic vision, establish high operational standards, and drive meaningful outcomes that protect our valuable public assets, all while prioritizing exceptional customer service, safety, cleanliness, and the overall readiness of our facilities.

As the Director, your key responsibilities will include crafting and refining policies and procedures that elevate daily operations to new heights. You will be entrusted with overseeing facility maintenance and thoughtfully planning its lifecycle, working collaboratively with contracted services and overseeing capital repair projects toensure that our venues remain in prime condition, and overseeing safety programs tocreate a safe and efficient environment for everyone involved.

You will have complete ownership of venue business operations, where your negotiation skills will shine as you establish and manage rental agreements. You'll define terms and pricing that maximize venue utilization while efficiently overseeing payment collection and ensuring compliance with all county regulations. Your role will extend beyond operations; you will spearhead public relations and marketing initiatives, collaborating with design partners, community organizations, and regional promoters to drive demand and elevate the profile of our events.

A critical aspect of your role will be fiscal stewardship. You will develop and manage budgets, forecast revenue, control expenditures, and ensure adherence to our county's financial requirements. This responsibility underscores the important role you play in ensuring the sustainability and financial health of our events complex.

  • A solid understanding of public event facility operations, budget development, fiscal controls, contract negotiation techniques, and the intricacies of staging special events, along with safety and risk management knowledge.
  • Expertise in public relations is key, especially strong public speaking abilities that enable you to effectively engage a diverse range of audiences. You should feel comfortable collaborating with others to create innovative solutions to complex challenges and possess the aptitude to resolve conflicts constructively.
  • A proven ability to manage extensive work programs under pressure and meet tight deadlines. You will need to demonstrate a skillful approach to fostering strong relationships with department staff, community leaders, vendors, and the public while proficiently analyzing complex financial data for informed decision-making and strategic planning.
  • A valid Utah driver's license is essential, along with a clean driving record (no alcohol or drug-related convictions or reckless driving offenses within the past five years, and no more than two moving violations within the previous 24 months). Candidates must also successfully complete a pre-employment background check.
