Job Opportunity: Event Logistics Coordinator
Contract, Full-Time (40 Hours per Week), Potential for Extension after Dec. 31, 2025
THE OPPORTUNITY
Michigan Central is seeking an Event Logistics Coordinator to join our dynamic and growing team. In this role, you will be a key contributor to advancing Michigan Central's mission by ensuring the seamless execution of events through operational excellence and logistical coordination. You will work closely with team members, clients, and stakeholders to foster community engagement and deliver exceptional guest experiences at The Station at Michigan Central and Newlab at Michigan Central.

Key Responsibilities
- Event Planning and Logistics Coordination
- Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and internal team members to plan and execute events of varying sizes and scopes.
- Document and track event themes, timelines, budgets, and ensure alignment with plans.
- Coordinate logistics including catering, audio/visual, production, and vendor relations to maintain quality standards.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for event-related inquiries and oversee on-site event staff, vendors, and volunteers.
- Event Operations and Documentation
- Create and manage event timelines, run-of-show documents, and Event Memos to ensure smooth operations.
- Support data entry and management within the Triple Seat event system for public and private events.
- Facilitate scheduling for tours and ticketed events, ensuring capacity requirements are met.
- Compliance and Safety
- Ensure all event activities comply with health and safety standards, venue policies, and emergency response plans.
Basic Qualifications
- Proven experience in event planning, hospitality, or related field.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in event management software platforms; experience with Triple Seat is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with a strong work ethic and innovative decision-making skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift materials up to 50lbs.

- Proven expertise in managing and interpreting data to inform strategic decisions.
- Exceptional interpersonal and collaborative skills, including creative problem solving and conflict resolution.
- Experience managing multiple projects effectively.
- Versatility in communication mediums and ability to engage with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Demonstrated ability to innovate and translate ideas into actionable outcomes.
OVERALL GOAL
The Event Logistics Coordinator will contribute to creating memorable and impactful experiences for Michigan Central's clients and guests by efficiently managing event logistics and resources. This role supports Michigan Central's growing events business and the district's vision to become a global destination.
