Position Overview

The Technical Supervisor leads floor operations with a focus on customer service, staff leadership, and development. They directly oversee the technical team to ensure operational efficiencies and customer satisfaction. The role may also involve participating in administrative duties to support onsite operations and career development. This position reports to the DET, DOO, or Operations Manager.

Key Job Responsibilities

  1. Equipment Operation
  • Responsible for accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of audiovisual equipment listed in the technical qualifications section.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and resolve problems promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with all security and safety measures.
  • Secure equipment from theft and damage during use.
  1. Customer Service
  • Provide excellent service, exceeding internal and external customer expectations.
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients through effective communication.
  • Meet with guests onsite to ensure their needs are met and equipment functions properly.
  • Monitor events and check in on customers throughout the day.
  • Foster and understand the hotel/client relationship.
  1. Training/Staff Development
  • Assist in training technicians on floor activities and service expectations.
  • Mentor new hires.
  • Promote a positive working environment aligned with company values.
  1. Operations Management
  • Organize daily floor activities for timely setup, refresh, and removal of equipment.
  • Manage daily operations, including workflow, labor needs, and scheduling.
  • Update and complete equipment sheets accurately.
  • Coordinate communication for event management.
  • Participate in venue meetings as needed.
  1. Equipment Maintenance
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Lead proper security, storage, transportation, and maintenance of equipment.
  • Participate in physical inventory counts as required.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Encore Technical Level 3 Certification required; new team members must be certified within 30 days.
  • Encore Technical Level 2 Core Certification (Audio, Lighting, Projection, Video, Scenic) required; certification within 60 days.
  • 3-5 years of customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
  • 3-5 years of audiovisual experience required.
  • Technical theory knowledge.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills.
  • Experience leading workflow and teams.
  • Valid driver’s license required for roles operating company vehicles.
