Liberty University is seeking an Event Support Specialist to provide hands-on operational and logistical support for events across campus. You will assist with setup, teardown, equipment handling, and on-site customer service to ensure events run safely and meet stakeholder expectations.
The role includes tiered responsibilities from delivering materials to supervising small crews, with driving requirements and a focus on teamwork within LU’s mission-driven environment.
The Event Support Specialist provides hands‑on operational and logistical support for events across campus/facilities. The roles is responsible for event set‑up and teardown, customer service during event, equipment handling, and real‑time problem solving to ensure events are executed safely, efficiently, and to the stakeholder’s expectations.
Education and Experience
Communication and Comprehension: Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well articulated information. Ability to understand, speak, and write English in order to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner. Possess public communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University.
Problem Solving: Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.
Physical and Sensory Abilities: Frequently required to travel to campus locations and off campus locations. Regularly required to hear and speak in order to effectively communicate orally. Frequently required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the campus and buildings. Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop in to conduct business. Regularly lift 125 or fewer pounds.
The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of these positions is both an indoor and outdoor setting.
Event Support Specialist Tier One: No driving requirements.
Event Support Specialist Tier Two: Use of LU vehicles is required for travel in the performance of the essential functions of this position.
Proof of a valid Virginia driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.
To obtain LU-approved driver certification, individuals must be 21 years of age or older, possess a valid driver’s license with a minimum of five (5) years of documented driving history, and maintain a clean driving record.
Must be approved to operate ES vehicles up to a medium 16ft box truck.
Event Support Lead Use of LU vehicles is required for travel in the performance of the essential functions of this position.

Pay Range Compensation is determined based on factors such as qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, along with University needs and external market conditions. Market benchmarks may be used, as appropriate, in combination with internal equity to ensure pay is fair and aligned with the broader compensation structure. The position may also be eligible for comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and tuition assistance.
