DeKalb Health in Dodge City, KS seeks an entry‑level event support worker. The role involves venue setup and breakdown, assisting vendors, and maintaining clean facilities for busy events. You will frequently stand, walk, and lift during shifts that may include evenings and weekends.
A valid U.S. work authorization and a Kansas driver’s license are required. Experience is not mandatory; applicants with any related skills will be taught.
Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Facility Lead and/or the Event Lead, the employee in this position performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled tasks of limited complexity. The ability to receive, interpret and follow oral and/or written instructions and lift and carry is required. Supervision and instruction are given on new or difficult assignments. This position involves frequent public contact.
Experience: This is an entry level position. Any variety of experience and skills will be helpful.
Education: This position does not have a minimum educational requirement.
Skills: Bilingual is beneficial but not required. Ability to operate basic hand tools, a broom, mop and calculator is helpful. Employee will be taught required skills and will be expected to retain that instruction.
Problem Solving: No problem solving exists in this position. Duties follow prescribed policies and procedures.
Decision Making: Limited decision-making exists in this position. Duties follow prescribed policies and procedures.
Accountability: Employee is not responsible for budgetary control of the department and does not participate in the annual budget process.
Supervision: Supervision is provided several times daily and the supervisor reviews all job related decisions. Employee does not have supervisory responsibility over subordinate personnel.
Personal Relations: Frequent contact with other county departments, and the general public requiring ability to communicate and relate in a positive and effective manner.
Working Conditions: Position requires indoor and outdoor work depending on the event requirements. Late nights and weekends are common. Event set up and tear down is typically during the week days, but can be adjusted as needed. Must have the ability to wear personal protection equipment when necessary or required.
