Job summary

ASM Global-SMG is seeking a dedicated operational staff member in Mesilla Park, New Mexico. This role involves set-up and tear-down for events, as well as general maintenance of the facility. Candidates must be capable of working flexible hours including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

  • Physical ability to perform assemblies and moving heavy items.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Event set-up and changeover to include moving, arranging, assembly and disassembly, setting and removal of items needed. Event set-up and changeover may include assembly and disassembly of animal penning.
  • General cleaning and upkeep of buildings, including buffing, dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, washing windows; cleaning toilets, urinals, mirrors, walls, arena seats, and trash cans.
  • Oversee and participate in all aspects of the conversion process for events, including setting-up and tearing down flooring, portable chairs, operable walls, barricades, staging, tables, other furnishings and equipment.
  • Oversee personnel and perform various duties to ensure day‑to‑day operations of the facility are met, such as loading/unloading delivery trucks and transporting trash to proper disposal areas.
  • Read and understand layouts, measure floor accurately, assist in training new hires or subcontracted services in the proper use of equipment, and enforce all policies and procedures of the facility.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance tasks and participate in the execution of life safety or damage concerns or loss of property promptly to supervisor or manager.
  • Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends, holidays as needed, review daily assignments and special projects, inspect completed work to determine that it meets acceptable requirements, issue supplies and equipment, and compile a list to order all necessary inventories of equipment and supplies.
  • Operate an extractor machine, work on elevated areas including ladders, scaffolding, and scissor lifts, assist other Operations Department divisions to expedite set‑up and teardown events whenever possible, and perform any other duties assigned.
