Event Staff Position Summary

The Event Staff position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and operational support at concerts, festivals, sporting events, wineries, fairs, corporate events, private functions, and other special events serviced by Armida Group Inc.

Event Staff assist with guest services, event logistics, admissions, ticket scanning, parking operations, crowd flow, venue support, and general event operations while creating a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable experience for guests. Event Staff work collaboratively with supervisors, clients, venue personnel, and Security Officers to support successful event operations.

Responsibilities may vary based on compensation grade, training, experience, assigned event, and operational needs.

Event Staff Responsibilities

Event Staff are responsible for supporting event operations through customer service, hospitality, communication, and operational assistance. Event Staff are not licensed Security Officers and shall not perform duties requiring a California BSIS Guard Card unless properly licensed and specifically assigned.

Essential Functions

Depending upon assignment, Event Staff may perform one or more of the following duties:

Guest Services

Welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner.

Provide exceptional customer service.

Answer guest questions and provide event information.

Assist guests with directions throughout the venue.

Provide respectful assistance to guests requiring accessibility accommodations.

Assist with lost child, lost person, and reunification procedures in accordance with company policy.

Promote a positive guest experience at all times.

Admissions & Credential Verification

Scan tickets using electronic ticket scanners.

Verify tickets, wristbands, badges, credentials, or event passes.

Assist with guest check-in and registration.

Monitor admission areas.

Assist with re-entry procedures as assigned.

Report admission concerns to supervisors.

Event Operations

Assist with event setup and breakdown.

Prepare assigned work areas.

Monitor assigned event locations.

Assist with line management and queue organization.

Monitor venue capacity when assigned.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned areas.

Support venue operations as directed.

Crowd Flow & Parking Operations

Assist with pedestrian traffic flow.

Direct guests to designated seating, entrances, exits, or parking areas.

Assist with parking operations and vehicle movement as assigned.

Maintain orderly movement of guests during arrivals and departures.

Assist with emergency evacuations as directed.

Safety Awareness

Observe assigned work areas for safety concerns.

Report suspicious activity, hazards, injuries, or emergencies to supervisors or Security Officers.

Follow emergency procedures and evacuation plans.

Assist with maintaining a safe environment for guests and staff.

Never place yourself in unsafe situations beyond the scope of your training.

Customer Service

Maintain a positive and professional attitude.

Resolve minor guest concerns through outstanding customer service.

Utilize effective communication and de-escalation techniques when appropriate.

Work cooperatively with venue personnel, clients, vendors, supervisors, and fellow employees.

Represent Armida Group Inc. professionally at all times.

Administrative Duties

Maintain radio communication when assigned.

Complete required documentation.

Attend required meetings and training.

Maintain assigned equipment.

Follow company policies and procedures.

Perform other event-related duties as assigned.

Event Staff Shall

Follow all company policies and procedures.

Wear approved uniforms and maintain professional grooming standards.

Follow supervisor instructions.

Attend required company training.

Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.

Use company equipment responsibly.

Event Staff Shall Not

Unless specifically licensed, trained, and authorized:

Perform duties requiring a California BSIS Guard Card.

Represent themselves as Security Officers or law enforcement personnel.

Conduct security patrols.

Detain individuals.

Search persons or personal belongings.

Conduct bag inspections or security screenings.

Utilize metal detection wands or other security screening equipment unless properly licensed, trained, and specifically assigned.

Carry defensive weapons.

Exercise police powers.

Place themselves in potentially dangerous situations beyond the scope of their training.

Exceed the authority granted by company policy or assigned responsibilities.

Education & Experience
Education

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience

Previous customer service, hospitality, event staffing, retail, or guest service experience is preferred but not required. Experience requirements may vary depending on compensation grade.

Typical Working Conditions

Event Staff work in a variety of indoor and outdoor venues, including concerts, festivals, sporting events, wineries, fairs, corporate events, conventions, private functions, community events, and other client locations. Employees may work in varying weather conditions and may be exposed to loud noise, large crowds, uneven terrain, and extended work hours. Evening, weekend, holiday, and overtime assignments are common based on event schedules and operational needs.

Bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, twist, and climb stairs.

Lift, carry, push, or pull materials or equipment up to 50 pounds.

Assist with event setup and breakdown.

Operate ticket scanners, radios, computers, and other event equipment.

Perform repetitive hand movements associated with ticket scanning, keyboarding, and operating equipment.
