Job description

We're looking for a creative, organised, and proactive Event & Social Media Assistant to support the planning and delivery of markets and events while driving engaging social media content. This is a dynamic role ideal for someone passionate about events, digital marketing, and community engagement.

Hours: The role is part-time (16 hours per week), with potential overtime during busier periods. These hours can be split over 3 days (Monday - Friday).

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Event Support:
  2. Support the planning of markets and events.
  3. Communicate effectively with clients, traders, suppliers, and event participants to ensure smooth operations.
  4. Manage trader and event applications, including reviewing submissions and coordinating approvals.
  5. Generate and issue invoices as needed.
  6. Maintain and update trader profiles, ensuring all information is accurate and current.
  7. Respond promptly and professionally to emails and telephone enquiries.
  8. Research and book suitable activities and entertainment for upcoming markets and events, ensuring selections align with the budget.
  9. Order promotional materials as required to support marketing and event needs.
  10. Assist in the planning and delivery of themed events in conjunction with scheduled markets, contributing creative ideas and ensuring cohesive execution.
  11. Social Media & Marketing:
  12. Create, schedule, and post engaging content across platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X).
  13. Monitor social media channels, respond to messages/comments, and engage with followers.
  14. Track analytics and contribute ideas to grow reach and engagement.
  15. Support email marketing, blog writing, and website updates as needed.
Requirements
  • Experience in events, marketing, or a related field (can include volunteering or internships); prior experience preferred but not essential.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and content trends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace.
