The City of Minneapolis is seeking an Event Set-Up and Maintenance Crew Member for the Minneapolis Convention Center. This role involves manual setup, cleaning, and maintenance of event spaces, requiring strong customer service and communication skills. The position offers flexible hours with a pay range of $22.76 to $30.58 per hour, based on experience.
Join us at the Minneapolis Convention Center (MCC) as an Event Set-Up and Maintenance Crew Member. We host over 300 events annually, contributing to a vibrant downtown community and providing excellent service.
This role involves manual setup and tear down of events, cleaning, and basic maintenance of the building interiors and exteriors. The position requires high standards of customer service, professionalism, and effective communication with guests, clients, vendors, and the public.
Starting at $22.76 to $30.58 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
On-site only at the Minneapolis Convention Center.
Indoor and outdoor work with exposure to chemicals, dirt, and dust.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, stand, walk, bend, climb, reach overhead, and perform other physical tasks. Mentally, must communicate effectively, concentrate, remember details, and adapt to changes.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Related experience is desirable but not required.
This position is represented by the Teamsters Convention Center Custodians (CVT). The selection process includes review of education and experience, possible oral examination, background checks, drug testing, and a medical exam. The City of Minneapolis does not sponsor work visas.
