Job summary

Columbus Museum of Art in Columbus, OH is seeking Event Service Staff to deliver exceptional food and beverage service at corporate, social, and CMA events. This contingent, as-needed role offers flexible scheduling based on event needs and availability.

The position requires hospitality experience, strong guest service, and the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Training and standards emphasize professionalism and safety in fast-paced settings.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in food and beverage service, preferably in banquet, catering, or special event settings.
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Must be 21 years of age or older to serve alcoholic beverages.
• Serve Safe certification is a plus.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry up to 50 lbs, and safely maneuver equipment.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to take direction and adapt to changing event needs.

Responsibilities

• Set up and tear down event spaces and service areas using appropriate equipment to support a variety of food and beverage service scenarios throughout the museum.
• Serve alcoholic beverages responsibly and in compliance with CMA service standards and state liquor control guidelines.
• Deliver outstanding customer service to clients and guests before, during, and after events, ensuring a welcoming and professional experience.
• Safely lift and carry trays of food, navigate tight or crowded spaces with efficiency, and push/pull carts containing tables, chairs, and other event equipment as needed.
• Follow Serve Safe and other food safety protocols in accordance with city, county, and state regulations to ensure a safe and hygienic service environment.
