Job summary

BEST Crowd Management is hiring for Event Security at Val Air Ballroom in Des Moines, IA. This part-time role combines event staffing with security duties to ensure a safe, enjoyable experience for attendees.

You will need strong communication, teamwork and customer-service skills and be able to pass a background check and drug screening. Ideal candidates have prior event security or related field experience, a willingness to obtain a security license if required, and flexibility to work

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent; some college education preferred.
• Previous experience in event security, law enforcement, or related field is advantageous.
• Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods.
• Pass a background check and drug screening.
• Possess a valid security license or be willing to obtain one (if required).

Responsibilities

• Assist with event setup and equipment/signage placement.
• Monitor access points and conduct security checks to prevent unauthorized entry.
• Provide friendly customer service and assist attendees with inquiries.
• Collaborate with event staff and security personnel to maintain safety and order.
• Assist in crowd management and control entry/exit flow.
• Respond to security incidents or emergencies following protocols.
• Enforce event rules and safety procedures throughout the venue.
• Handle attendee complaints or conflicts calmly and professionally.
• Adhere to company policies and guidelines to deliver high service and security standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist with event setup, including the arrangement of equipment, signage, and other necessary materials.
• Monitor access points and conduct thorough security checks to prevent unauthorized entry and ensure the safety of attendees.
• Provide friendly and helpful customer service by assisting attendees with inquiries, directions, and general event information.
• Collaborate with event staff and security personnel to maintain a safe and organized environment.
• Assist in crowd management, including controlling entry and exit points and ensuring proper flow of attendees.
• Respond promptly and effectively to security incidents or emergencies, following established protocols.
• Monitor event areas to enforce event rules, regulations, and safety procedures.
• Handle and resolve attendee complaints or conflicts in a calm and professional manner.
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, and guidelines to deliver a high standard of service and security.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old (age requirements may vary depending on local regulations).
• Hold a high school diploma or equivalent (some college education is preferred).

• Possess strong physical fitness and the ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
