Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corp. (MSG Entertainment) seeks a Security Supervisor to oversee event and building security across MSG venues in New York.

This part-time role emphasizes delivering exceptional guest experiences while maintaining a safe environment, and reports to the Security Manager. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of supervisory security experience, with knowledge of events and theatre operations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years’ supervisory experience (preferred union experience) in security, law enforcement, or military.
  • Previous security leadership of small teams is ideal.
  • 60+ college credits or equivalent certifications preferred.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder mobilization.
  • Experience documenting staff performance and incident reporting.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships across functions.
  • Coaching and developing staff to meet goals.
  • Comfort with conflict management and tight deadlines.
  • Experience in guard force scheduling, security advances, training, and policy writing.

  • Oversee Security Operations Center staff and building security officers as required.
  • Uphold appearance and presentation guidelines on-site.

Who are we hiring?

The MSG Security Supervisor is an event‑based, part‑time position accountable for providing exceptional guest experience throughout MSG's venues as it relates to event or building security. This role will focus on partnering within Venues, and across functions, to get work done through others in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment. Success in this role is demonstrated by creating a safe and secure environment without sacrificing an exceptional guest experience, committing to continuous learning and development, and achieving business results. The MSG Security Supervisor will report to the MSG Security Manager.

What will you do?
  • Accountable for daily supervision and leadership of building and event security officers.
  • Lead and develop front line colleagues ensuring employees are engaged, upbeat, and capable of delivering exceptional guest experiences in a safe and secure environment. Ability to work collaboratively with other departments to achieve company objectives, especially in emergency situations and times of crisis.
  • Assess, train, evaluate, and coach front line colleagues utilizing previous experience and company provided programs.
  • Responsible for various administration items such as scheduling, invoices, incident reports, daily reports, and documentation logs.
  • Responsible for ensuring that security office space and equipment is prepared to support security operations. Works with adjacent teams to address maintenance, custodial, and facility issues and improvements.
  • Addresses customer concerns, feedback and suggestions in a timely and efficient manner.
  • May be tasked with managing or supporting additional security programs that facilitate security operations such as equipment inventory, conducting security advances and walkthroughs for visiting VIPs, improving team processes, completing long term projects, and representing security leadership to other internal teams.
  • Supervision of Security Operations Center Staff and Building Security officers on occasion.
  • Provide exceptional experiences for our guests, partners, and team members, including by adhering to our appearance and presentation guidelines while on‑site.
What do you need to succeed?
  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years’ supervisory experience (preferred union experience) in the security, law enforcement, or military field, and preferably have knowledge of events, sports, and theatre operations within an entertainment venue.
  • Previous security experience required, prior service as a non‑commissioned officer in the U.S. military responsible for leading small units, training, and managing others would be ideal.
  • Candidates who have completed a minimum of 60 credit hours of college‑level coursework (representing 2 years), or have shown similar self‑development through certifications, trade school coursework, etc. are preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to mobilize key stakeholders, and engage with all levels in the organization.
  • Demonstrated experience completing reports and documenting staff performance is essential.
  • Ability to engage and develop collaborative relationships and influence within team and across functions, even without direct reporting relationships, adept at maintaining a positive, open, approachable, and professional relationship with a diverse group.
  • Demonstrated experience coaching, mentoring and developing staff to perform at high levels and holding team accountable for achieving business goals and objectives.
  • Comfortable with managing conflicts and responding to customer problems with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to demonstrate success in managing multiple tasks while under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience in some or all of the following areas: guard force scheduling and management, conducting security advances, training security officers, responding to security emergencies, physical security project management, crowd management and writing security policy.
Special Requirements
  • The ideal candidate must be willing to travel to other locations as needed.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, have split days off, work weekends and holidays in a 24 X 7 environment.
  • General physical requirements such as lifting 25 lbs., standing for long periods, walking long distances, bending and constant motion is often required.
  • Must have a valid security license.

Hourly Pay Range

$37—$42 USD
