Job summary

BEST Crowd Management in Athens, OH is seeking an Event Security Officer to help safeguard attendees, staff and property at Ohio University. You will join a dedicated team focused on safety and customer service during events. Position is part-time with a pay rate of $14 per hour.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Hold a high school diploma or equivalent (some college education preferred).
• Previous experience in event security or related field is advantageous.
• Possess strong physical fitness and the ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
• Exhibit excellent observational and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrate exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Work effectively in a team and collaborate with diverse backgrounds.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Possess a valid security license or be willing to obtain one (if required).
• Pass a background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible and professional presence to client and BEST standards.
• Patrol assigned areas to deter unauthorized activities and ensure safety.
• Monitor access points, conduct bag checks, entry screenings and stay vigilant.
• Respond promptly to security incidents or emergencies, including medical emergencies.
• Collaborate with event staff, law enforcement and emergency services to coordinate security efforts.
• Provide exceptional customer service by assisting attendees and directing them as needed.
• Report security occurrences or incidents to the supervisor or medical personnel.
• Create and maintain documentation of activities and observations for leadership review.
• Uphold company policies and guidelines to maintain professionalism and security effectiveness.
