Job summary

BOS Security is looking for an event security officer to cover the Atlanta area, primarily at the Fernbank Science Center. Shifts run after 5PM, 4-8 hours, with monthly or bi-monthly events, and are open to any weekday or weekend.

Candidates should have security, law enforcement, or related training, good English, and a valid driver's license with reliable transportation. A pre-employment drug screen and background check are required; travel up to 50 miles one way may be needed.

Qualifications

• Security, law enforcement, military, or other related experience and/or training preferred.
• The ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• MUST HAVE: Smartphone, a valid driver's license and your own, working transportation, travel up to 50 miles one way, and a clean driving history.
• Pass a pre-employment drug screening test and a background check; random drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Trained and qualified to work assigned post with client post instructions.
• Patrolling event on foot during shift and maintain visible presence.
• Patrols buildings and grounds; manage crowd control and maintain order.
• Inspect doors, windows, gates to ensure security; deter rule infractions.
• Inspect equipment for tampering; report hazards and security issues.
• Observe personnel departures to guard client property; permit authorized entry.
• Work beyond regular shifts as assigned; perform other duties as needed.
